GameFi, minus the hype

What happened: NFT game Abstract Chickens opened its bridge to Ethereum over a month early, letting holders of the 3,333 eggs move off Abstract before it shuts down.

Does it pay players anything? Only matters if you already hold one of the 3,333 egg NFTs; nothing for other players.

Even digital chickens know to flee before the coop closes.

GameFi, minus the hype

What happened: Yuga Labs is turning Bored Ape Yacht Club into Mudwater, a trading card game on Solana with physical collectible cards.

Does it pay players anything? Nothing for players yet — no free cards, tokens, or access mentioned so far.

Yet another ape venture, this time printed on cardboard.

GameFi, minus the hype

What happened: MegaCryptoPolis renamed itself MCPOLIS, repositioning the city-building game to focus on AI agents instead of just human players.

Does it pay players anything? Nothing for players yet. It is a rebrand announcement, not a payout or new game feature.

Even virtual cities now want robots as citizens before humans get a say.

P2E reality check $100 put in at each gaming token's all-time high. What it's worth today:

GALA $0.21 (peak $0.825 in 2021, now $0.00173) APE $0.42 (peak $26.70 in 2022, now $0.113) AXS $0.53 (peak $164.90 in 2021, now $0.873) SAND $0.55 (peak $8.40 in 2021, now $0.0465) WEMIX $0.57 (peak $24.71 in 2021, now $0.141) MANA $1.28 (peak $5.85 in 2021, now $0.0749) IMX $1.31 (peak $9.52 in 2021, now $0.125) OMI $1.92 (peak $0.0134 in 2021, now $0.000258)

The games that are still worth your time are the ones that are fun without the token.

Proof that patience is a virtue, and so is accepting losses with a straight face.

Prices: CoinGecko, gaming category. Not advice.

GameFi, minus the hype

What happened: Cambria's RSGP token launched on Base on 29th October and lost most of its value within the first day.

Another token learns gravity exists on day one.

GameFi, minus the hype

What happened: Gigaverse announced the minting details for Giga Legends, a new Ethereum-based NFT collection tied to its game.

Does it pay players anything? Nothing for players yet, just a mint plan. Whether owning the NFTs does anything useful is still unclear.

Another mint date to mark on a calendar nobody owns yet.

GameFi, minus the hype

What happened: Ronin, the blockchain behind Axie Infinity, says it's opening community governance tied to a treasury liquidity plan.

Does it pay players anything? Nothing for players yet — this is about voting rights for token holders, not free money or items.

Governance arrives, right after the treasury learned to share.
